A wife, sister, and member of NunatuKavut, Labrador, Alicia Green has spent the last 4 years teaching grade 3/4 in Biigtigong Nishnaabeg. She has spent her life exploring the east and west coast living in Goose Bay, Labrador and Kelowna, British Columbia. After attending Lakehead University, Alicia moved to the north shore with her now husband. Her time over the last 4 years has been spent working with the education team in Biigtigong Nishnaabeg to emphasize the importance of traditional language, Anishnaabe worldview, and land-based learning in education. Her time spent in Northwestern Ontario has been precious in learning about land-based practices such as hunting, fishing, and connecting to land.
