An auntie and educator from Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, she has spent the last seven years in the field of education. Marie Desmoulin graduated from Confederation College with an Early Childhood Education diploma and continued to Lakehead University for her teaching degree. She was fortunate to return to her home community to start her role as an educator. Marie has helped develop a community-based curriculum that revolves solely around Biigtigong and Indigenous perspectives. She has made it her goal to continue teaching her students to embrace and learn from the land whenever possible.
