Shauna Bell is an educator and mother from Marathon. She has worked at Biigtigong for 10 years and has loved every moment of her time teaching here. Shauna was an educational assistant before returning to Lakehead University where she received her undergraduate and teaching degrees. Shauna has taught grades ⅚, ⅞ and is currently teaching the first and second grades. She is a reading specialist and helped to create and implement a land-based curriculum with her colleagues. Shauna believes that the land is the greatest educator and healer and plans to continue to teach her students the importance of land connection.
